Most of the students ask us about the difference between ABACUS and CUEMATH programs when they meet us. Well, to answer this….Answers for both the programs are explained by people who are involved in Abacus and CueMath “Business” very nicely. Arguing that what they are working for is the best.

Math Junior, A STEAM based SKILL DEVELOPMENT institute selects the best out of the two keeping students future as priority.

Both are after-school programs. Let us answer you the real difference.

Abacus and Vedic Mathematics have originated from East ( ancient India, China, Japan). Abacus is for complete brain development, memory, mental arithmetic. The course involves multiple levels. The student can perform Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, Squares, Cubes, Sqroots, Cuberoot type of calculations in mind. Child initially starts to use the colorful tool to do calculations will slowly visualize the tool and learns the ability to perform calculations without the tool. By this process, the child’s memory, specially the right side of the brain also called pictorial memory strengthens(Scientifically proven). There is a research done at Math Junior by All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH) on this and this is the link of the published paper. This research was selected and awarded by European Archives of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology. This makes them creative and innovative. Generates better leadership qualities, self confidence and concentration power. It also improves analytical and logical thinking during the process. Abacus is a very old program which is thought worldwide. Unfortunately, our current education systems follow the western education systems. Many Schools are unable to adapt to the eastern methods due to skilled teachers.

Abacus is the core of math and arithmetic skill any child should learn from the age of 5. It is like building all the necessary soft skills or life skills such as listening, concentration, speed, confidence and memory. These skills are not applicable only when they learn math, it applies for what ever subject they choose to read and learn. Once ‘The FEAR of Numbers’ is erased from the child, child can dwell into other concepts. Abacus in short is a skill development program like Vedic Mathematics or Art.

On the other side, CueMath which started in India deals with concepts of class math like Number Theory, Time and Money, Geometry, Algebra etc., which are taught in Schools. CUEMATH is like a math class taught in a more polished and refined way, promoted well. CueMath concepts are inline with the classroom curriculum. They use colorful pictures and materials to explain math concepts which are easy to understand. Learning Abacus leads to overall development and improves the speed, memory power and concentration of a child, while Cue Math deals with understanding concepts…

To Learn to Fly a fighter Plane with less fuel, good speed and more control or learn how to reach a destination using compass or a map ? Learning Plane is a skill (ABACUS), learning how to reach destination is Cuemath(using compass, map etc). You can bring down a new F16 using a old MIG21 BISON or a F-104 Starfighter using a Mysteres.(taken from Indo-Pak War stories). Today, some argues that since we have calculators, we don’t need to perform mental calculations because calculators will do that…..But today there are driver-less cars, would you stop learning to drive ? Hence, No computers can match a human brain.

Got comparison right? It is up to you to decide whether your child should be enrolled in CueMath or ABACUS or Vedic Math?
