What is abacus Program?
Abacus is a brain development program helps with mental calculation life Skill. It helps in the 360 degree brain development focus on memory, concentration, confidence, leadership and innovation. Recommended during the early childhood education, between 4 years to 10 years of age.
How?
With Abacus we use the left hand to move the beads. The left side of the brain is connected to the right side of the body and right side of the brain to the left side of the body. When we use the left hand, it activates the neurons on the right side of the brain, making the right side active.
What is the use of right brain?
The right side of the brain stores the pictures. The picture of the abacus tool is stored in the right side of the brain. If a student has to perform visualization (mental arithmetic) the student will have to recall the tool and perform the mental calculation, every time. This improves the memory, reasoning, problem solving, focus and concentration etc.
Other Uses?
It also helps in the logical reasoning, as there are many formulas to be applied and the child will have to think and apply the right formula.

How many levels?
At Math Junior we have 7 levels.
All concepts will be covered (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, GCD, LCM, Square root and Cube root, Percentage)
Level 1 and Level 2 are Foundation. These are basics of abacus and all the formulas are thought in these levels.
Recommended age? 5 to 12 years ( LKG to 5th std)
Can we enroll LKG kids?
Yes. We have KG book, which is treated as level 0.5. Once the kid completes that book the kid will be given the level 1 book.
How many months is one level?
The recommended time to complete a level is approximately 3 months. It also depends on the caliber of the child. Math Junior does not commit that the level will complete in 3 months. Regular practice and home work has to be done on time.
Some kids complete in 2.5 months, 3 months or some might take 4 months as well.
Is it one to one class?
It’s a group class with individual attention, around 5 to 6 students in a class. Every child learns with their own speed. Math Junior runs online classes using well equipped Online Platform.
So the teacher will teach all students in a group?
The teacher will pick every student in the class in a round robin approach and teach them individually. Assign them task from their workbook to do in class and access their understanding of the concepts thought.
Is it the same teacher throughout the level?
Yes, it’s the same teacher for a particular level. If in case the teacher goes on leave\ or is sick, any other instructor will be assigned. Once the teacher is back, the same teacher will continue.
How many classes in a month?
8 classes in a month (2 classes per week)
Will the missed classes be compensated?
Yes the parent has to discuss with the instructor/teacher and get the missed classes compensated in that month only. The compensation classes cannot be carried forward to the next month.
What are the available slots?
You will get all the available slots when you click on register to the class button in the website www.mathjunior.in
Is it possible to change the slots later?
Yes you can discuss with your instructor in the class and get the slots shifted if there are any free slots available in the different slot.
What is the fees?
The fees is 3990 per level or 3 months whichever is earlier for all our online students.
(if the level gets over in 2.5 months , then the renewal needs to be done for the next level)
(if the level doesn’t get over in 3 months, the renewal has to be done at the end of 3 months and this fees will be carried forward to the next level as well)
If the student has not completed the level at the end of 3 months. Then the fees renewal has to be done. Let’s assume the student completes the level at the 4th month. Now the remaining 2 months fees is taken forward to the next level. Again at the end of 3 month, renewal is to be done.
In case the remaining days is lesser than 15 days for next level, Renewal has to be made for us to dispatch the next level books.
What are the materials included in the initial kit?
Yes, one t shirt, Workbook, Stationary Kit, Label Stickers, and abacus tool is included in the fees.
Is the parent allowed to sit with the child in the class?
Yes the parent is allowed to sit with the child in the online sessions. But is not allowed to interrupt the teacher, while the class is ongoing.
Whether each level have a certificate?
After completion of each level, level completion test will be given which is an online evaluation test. Post completion of test, certificate will be issued together with the next level books upon renewal.
If the student is out of country?
The student has to buy a 17 column soroban abacus tool locally/online. The abacus worksheets will be uploaded in the student specific portal, post registration with Math Junior. The student can download the document and get it printed for our classes.
Can I get the teachers contact details?
No, teachers personal contact details are not shared. If required you can join the session and interact with the teacher.
Can we take a break after each level?
Breaks are not recommended.
What are the responsibilities of a parent?
Encourage the child to attend the classes regularly, monitor if regular practice is done, Practice visualizations with the child.
Monitor if homework’s are done.
Post registration how long will it take to start the classes?
Once registration is done, the abacus kit (for students in INDIA) will be dispatched to the address immediately. For out of country students the softcopy of the worksheets will be uploaded in the student specific portal. Once the student receives the book and the tool, the student can start the class as per schedule. Expected duration to start classes is 2-3 days.
